Nights Away: Planning, Paperwork and Practice.
Please note: attendance at both sessions, 13 April and 21 April is required - please book onto both sessions.
Prerequisites:
1. Attended at least 1 nights away event as a member of the team running the event.

These two sessions will cover:
- Nights Away Permits and how to gain one.
- NAN form, Nights away advisors, Nights Away Passports and approval from DLV/GLV
- Programmes of activities, risk assessments and approval (permissions from parents if required)
- Venues (types, where to find info about them) including international events
- The team, ratios and their roles
- The equipment required
- Catering and menus, food storage and cooking arrangements
- Transport (i.e. parents bringing young people, minibus or other)
- Water and sanitary arrangements (thinking about any young people with additional needs or requirements as well as provision if it is a greenfield site)
- Budgets
- Communications with parents including In Touch arrangements (kit list, information pack) What methods are appropriate.
- Arrangements for any attendees who have additional needs/medical conditions/dietary requirements/religious observances
- Medical records, first aid and medical care, incident and accident reporting, nearest A+E
- Sleeping arrangements
- Camp layout
